Black History Month Events in Atlanta Black Expo |
Featuring black culture celebration and black business expo activities |
Atlanta is set to host a vibrant array of events this February, celebrating Black History Month with a focus on Black culture and business excellence.
From February 20 to 22, the Georgia World Congress Center will be the venue for the Atlanta Black Expo, a premier event showcasing over 300 Black-owned businesses. Attendees can look forward to engaging workshops, dynamic speakers, and a lively homecoming tailgate party. This expo aims to foster economic empowerment within the community.
In addition to the expo, the city offers a rich tapestry of cultural events. The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will grace the Fox Theatre stage from February 11 to 15, presenting their iconic performance "Revelations" alongside contemporary works. This marks the company's first major show under new Artistic Director Alicia Graf Mack.
For those interested in history, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights is hosting a month-long program titled "Black History Month at the Center." Visitors can engage in educational programs and community discussions that delve into the rich history and contributions of Black individuals.
Music enthusiasts can enjoy the "History to Hip-Hop" live music event in Roswell, celebrating the legacy of Black American music. Additionally, the annual Black History Film Festival offers screenings that highlight pivotal moments and figures in Black history.
These events not only honor the past but also inspire future generations by highlighting the resilience, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit of the Black community. Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to participate and support these celebrations throughout the month. |
