The Spalding County government has sold the old courthouse building to the Griffin Downtown Development Authority (DDA) for the purpose of developing a high-end hotel.

The DDA plans to renovate the historic building into a boutique hotel featuring event spaces, a restaurant, and a rooftop bar.

The project aims to attract tourists and boost economic development in the downtown area, with construction scheduled to begin in early 2022.
