“Because There’s Always Something New to Learn”

New Year’s Resolutions: Seniors’ Questions & Answers

Q: Am I too old to make a New Year’s resolution?

A: Absolutely not. Growth doesn’t have an age limit.

Resolutions at any stage of life are about improving well-being, comfort, and joy—not changing who you are.

Q: What if I’ve failed at resolutions before?

A: Many people have—and that’s okay. Past attempts
don’t mean failure; they mean experience. A simpler, more realistic resolution often leads to better success.

Q: Do resolutions have to be big to matter?

A: No. Small changes often create the biggest impact. A short daily walk, drinking more water, or calling a friend regularly can greatly improve quality of life.

Q: Should my resolution be about health?

A: Health is a popular choice, but it’s not the only one. Resolutions can also focus on relationships, hobbies, faith, rest, or enjoying life more fully.

Q: What if my health limits what I can do?

A: Resolutions should work with your body, not against it. Choose goals that fit your abilities and adjust as needed. Progress looks different for everyone.

Q: Is it okay to change my resolution mid-year?

A: Yes. Life changes, and so can your goals. Adjusting a resolution shows wisdom, not failure.

Q: How can I stay motivated after January?

A: Focus on why the resolution matters to you. Celebrate small wins, track progress, and don’t be afraid to ask for encouragement or support.

Q: What if I don’t want to make a resolution at all?

A: That’s perfectly fine. Some people prefer intentions, habits, or simply living mindfully each day. Growth doesn’t require a label.

Closing Thought

A resolution isn’t about pressure—it’s about purpose. Whether you choose to make one or not, the most important thing is to care for yourself and enjoy each season of life.
