Downtown Trick-or-Treat

 

Local business owners and community outreach groups line the streets of Downtown Griffin the Thursday before Halloween for an evening of spooky fun. Children trick-or-treat from one business to the next while enjoying free activities, games, candy, and more. Costumes are encouraged.

 

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (baked into cupcakes)

  • Chocolate frosting

  • Crushed Oreos (for "dirt")

  • Candy pumpkins (like mellowcreme pumpkins)

    👉 Frost cupcakes, dip in crushed Oreos, and top with candy pumpkins.

  • Ingredients:

    • 1 lb beef strips (or chicken/shrimp)

    • 1 cup bell peppers (sliced)

    • 1 cup broccoli florets

    • 1 cup snap peas

    • 3 tbsp soy sauce

    • 1 tbsp honey

    • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • Directions:

    1. Heat sesame oil in a large pan.

    2. Cook beef strips until browned, remove.

    3. Add veggies, stir-fry 4–5 minutes.

    4. Return beef, add soy sauce + honey, toss.

    5. Serve with rice or noodles.
