Griffin-Spalding Ready Program Helps Seniors Launch Their Careers |
Last week, GSCS seniors participated in the Griffin-Spalding Ready workforce development program — a weeklong initiative at GRCCA designed to prepare students for life after graduation. With support from Southern Crescent Technical College, students received hands-on training in résumé building, interview skills, soft skills, and career exploration. Participants met directly with major employers such as Caterpillar, WellStar, Brightmoor, Delta Air Lines, and several CDL companies. Many businesses offered on-site interviews, giving students immediate access to real career opportunities. The impact was impressive: every participating student received a job offer or a second interview. Seniors like Olivia Robinson and Tequilla Coggins shared that the program boosted their confidence and opened doors they didn’t know existed. Others, like Dustin Littleton, confirmed their career paths and made plans to pursue certifications this summer. With such strong results, GSCS plans to expand the program next year to continue helping students successfully transition into the workforce. |
